There are many ways to get involved - you don't have to attend the AGM to have your say

This year’s AGM will take place at 10am on Saturday 2 November. Join online or at the Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne

Dear members

It is with pleasure that I invite you to be part of your 2024 AGM either online, or with us in person at the Newcastle Civic Centre.

Our Director-General, Hilary McGrady, and I will report on highlights and activity over the last year and also look forward to hearing from you. Whether you join us online or in person, there will be the opportunity to ask questions and share your views.

The formal business of the meeting will include the members’ resolutions that have been submitted ahead of the meeting. These can be found in this document here.

Members will also be asked to consider our regular business items such as the Annual Report and Financial Statements, and the appointment of an external auditor. Information about these items can be found in this document here and on our website here. You can either vote on these items in advance of the AGM, or on the day, whether you are online or in the room.

If you would like to vote on this year’s Council election candidates, you will find the information in this document here. As required every six years, this year members are also invited to vote on the organisations (‘Appointing Bodies’) that nominate 18 members to our Council. Further details are available in this document here. Votes for both the candidates in this year’s Council election and the Appointing Bodies election can only be submitted in advance of the AGM. You will find guidance on voting arrangements by clicking here.

Attendance

Where and when – register to attend

Join us online or at the Newcastle Civic Centre, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH. Doors open at 9am for registration. The event starts at 10am and we hope to finish by 3pm.

You can register to attend the meeting online or in person from 2 September until 25 October via the website by clicking here or using the postal voting forms if you have specifically requested these - see more in the voting section of this booklet here.

If you wish to attend in person, we recommend you register your interest as soon as possible. If interest to attend in person exceeds venue capacity, places will be allocated by ballot and some members may be asked to join online. Full joining instructions will be available closer to the event.

Bring your card

Please remember to bring your membership card with you if you attend in person.

Filming

By attending the meeting, members consent to being filmed and/or photographed for National Trust purposes.

Accessibility

The venue is equipped to welcome members with special access requirements. Assistance dogs are welcome inside the venue. Pets are not permitted. Please contact us ahead of time if you have any access requirements.
