This section explains what you need to do to attend the AGM either online or in person, how to cast your vote if you’re unable to attend, and how to vote in the Council elections.
This year’s event will be the National Trust’s first hybrid AGM. This means members will be able to watch the event live via Civica’s CESjoinIN, ask questions and vote on the resolutions on the day.
If you wish to attend the AGM either online or in person you will need to register by 28 October 2022.
From 1 November, Civica will email you details of how to access CESjoinIN, along with your personal security codes, or confirmation that you are registered to attend in person.
If a member votes more than once, either by post or online, only the first valid votes recorded will be counted.
To register to attend the AGM, vote on the resolutions or vote on the Council elections you should complete and submit the voting forms in your paper booklet, or go to www.cesvotes.com/nt22
Places for members to attend the AGM in person will be limited so please register your interest in attending in person this year. Registering your interest will not guarantee a place at the meeting. In the event that interest exceeds capacity, places will be issued in the order requests were received and members will be advised accordingly and offered the opportunity to join online.
There are two ways to vote and register to attend:
It’s quick, easy and greener than voting by post. You’ll need your membership number – simply click on the link above and follow the instructions on the screen.
Fill in both sides of the voting form that appears on pages 33 and 34 of your paper booklet. The address to send your form to is (no stamp required): Freepost Civica Election Services (the address really is this simple – just four words).
In response to members’ feedback, and having taken advice from Civica Election Services, we have introduced a ‘quick vote’ option for both the Council elections and the AGM resolutions. Quick vote has become a standard feature for ballots conducted by membership organisations. In each ballot, if you wish to vote for all the recommended election candidates or to support the Board of Trustees’ recommendations for all the resolutions in full, you can indicate this by selecting the ‘quick vote’ option in each section, leaving the rest of the section blank.
If you prefer, you can leave ‘quick vote’ blank and continue to vote separately for election candidates of your choice or on each resolution.
Our voting arrangements are managed independently by Civica Election Services. If you need help with voting, or encounter any difficulties with the voting website, please contact their customer services team on 020 8889 9203.
If you need to check when you joined the National Trust or if you need an extra or replacement voting form, call our Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895.
The National Trust will only process your information for the purpose of managing AGM voting and analysis of voting patterns (not how individuals cast their votes). This data will be retained for 14 months before being deleted. For more information on how we look after your personal data please see our Privacy Policy.
